Abstract: Room acoustic measurements are often done using portable equipment which poses a challenge of getting sufficient undistorted output from the loudspeaker. The different measurement techniques (interupted noise, sweeps, MLS ..) provide varying robustness to the nonlinear components generated by the loudspeaker, for example the sweep measurement makes it possible to remove the influence of the harmonics, but not the distortion components at the sweep frequency. The paper gives an overview of the different methods and their vulnerability to nonlinear effects, and proposes a method for eliminating the distortion components.
