Abstract: A round robin for Danish consultants that offers documentation of building acoustical parameters were conducted in January of 2025. The parameters included reverberation time in 1/1 octave bands, along with airborne sound reduction index and impact sound level in 1/3 octave bands from 50 Hz to 5kHz. The reason for round robin is a growing number of providers of these services in Denmark. The participants were instructed to use the methods of SBI 217, which references current ISO standards as measurement methods aling with additional guidance. Some differences in the measurements methods across was observed between participants - e.g. using pink or white noise, using impulse or interrupted noise method for reverberation time measurements. The results point to the following learnings: Three participants didn’t know how to reach 1/1 octave band values. One participant measured the volume incorrect which led to wrong values initially. Two participants tapping machine was 2 dB off from the rest. Results are otherwise similar when considering the expected uncertainty using ISO 12999-1. Even so the results would have in a Danish context mean very different conclusions on whether mitigations are needed or not for the constructions.
