Abstract: The BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey is a comprehensive survey that is repeated at regular intervals in Germany (BIBB: Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training; BAuA: Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health). This survey, which covers more than 300 questions regarding education, occupation and health, includes some questions on the acoustical conditions at the workplace. During DAGA 2021 results from the questions on “noise” linked to four different categories of the “job requirement level” were presented. The job requirement level represents the complexity of a respective work activity. These levels have also been considered in comparison to the three categories of activities listed in the “Technical Rules for Workplaces - Noise” (ASR A3.7) with respect to different rating levels. A new round of the BIBB/BAuA Employment Survey with 20,018 employees was completed in 2024. Analyses with respect to the mentioned topic are continued by comparing current results with previous findings. Attention will also be paid to the results obtained for jobs with a low job requirement level. The previous analyses had shown that also in this group a large proportion of the respondents frequently working under noise was experiencing this as a burden.
