Abstract:
Activities to slow down the rate of global warming must be intensified. It is therefore also necessary to minimise the carbon footprint of construction projects. There is also a major shortage of housing in Germany. In order to reduce the cost explosion on construction sites, one idea is to change the construction method of building components. However, experts and society as a whole are debating the potential loss of safety and comfort. For buildings with brick masonry, for example, durable and resilient properties automatically result in sustainable solutions. The presentation will show examples of the required structural design in comparison to acoustic requirements and comfort for residential buildings.
