Abstract: This study explores the innovative integration of concrete diffusers in the acoustic design of a newly constructed music school. Achieving the desired acoustic quality within a space while maintaining architectural integrity can be a complex task. Acoustic treatments often have a pragmatic appearance that may clash with the desired aesthetics of a space. Successfully integrating acoustic elements into architectural designs requires careful planning, collaboration, and a deep understanding of both acoustics and architectural design. In this project, a close collaboration between acoustics and architecture shows the potential of designing innovative surfaces to effectively scatter sound waves, minimize undesirable reflections and create an immersive auditory experience for both performers and audiences. The focus lies on the acoustic and aesthetic properties of concrete diffusors, which are designed to enhance sound distribution and clarity within a space, while maintaining the architectural integrity. Also, the durability and aesthetic potential of concrete offer significant advantages for long-term application in education facilities. The findings suggest that incorporating concrete diffusors in performance space design not only meets acoustic requirements but also contributes to a holistic design concept and the sustainability of spaces.
