Abstract: Hearing systems are useful or essential for everyday communication with hearing loss. The acoustic signal from the environment is picked up and processed in such a way that the listener receives the greatest possible benefit.Wireless transmission of the audio signal based on magnetic fields, infrared light or radio waves are good solutions for improving comprehension in public spaces. However, integration into the hearing system is not a matter of course. Hearing system manufacturers have therefore been working for a long time to offer additional and wireless communication channels. The high-quality solutions are often brand-oriented and not compatible. Many problems are to be solved with the new Bluetooth technology agreed in 2022. The technology, known as “Audio BT-LE”, aims to gain a foothold in the private audio sector under the brand name “Auracast”.
