Abstract:
This study deals with a technology to minimize the rolling noise radiation caused by the contact force generated when railway wheels run on a rail and the roughness of the contact surface generated by the running conditions. When operating a railway, an efficient, professional, and accurate track sound management technology is required in the field. We developed a technology to derive the roughness characteristics of the track surface required for running noise reduction management by utilizing sound pressure and vibration acceleration values and rail image data that can be easily collected during the operation of all commercially operated railway vehicles. By means of automated track noise reduction technology and a sustainable and intelligent data platform, rolling noise can be managed much more efficiently than before. In this paper, we introduce the principles for implementing the technology, the automated measuring devices and the results of evaluating the developed technology in the railway operation field.
